Aladdin is a Disney media franchise that includes a film series as well as other forms of media. It all started with the 1992 American animated film of the same name, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker and based on the same-named story. The film's success spawned two direct-to-video sequels, a television series (which included a crossover episode with Hercules: The Animated Series), a Broadway musical, a live-action film adaptation, numerous attractions and themed areas in Disney's theme parks, many video games, and merchandise, among other things. The entire franchise has EGOT-ed, which means it has won the four most prestigious awards in American entertainment: the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Awards.
