Description
In Disney's 1937 animated feature picture Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bashful is one of the seven dwarfs. Bashful, the group's romantic, is shy and self-conscious. When he's ashamed, he tends to blush and hide behind his beard. Bashful is bashful and coy, as his name suggests. He's claimed to have a crush on Snow White, and it's obvious throughout the film, especially when the two engage directly. In between laughter and bashful chuckles, his embarrassment causes him to blush profusely, hiding his crimson face underneath his lengthy beard. Grumpy appears to be enraged by his overall personality, which he shares with the majority of the dwarfs.  This is demonstrated in "The Silly Song," where Bashful's fear of performing in front of Snow White stalls the evening's musical piece, causing Grumpy to physically harrumph. Bashful appears to be passionate in addition to his coyness. He cherishes the concept of genuine love, so when Snow White decides to tell the dwarfs a story, Bashful cheerfully recommends a love story, which she gladly accepts. Bashful is a tiny and skinny dwarf in the 1937 picture.  His half bald head is framed by a lengthy white beard that reaches to the top of his skull. His skin is pale, he has hazel eyes, long black eyelashes, a medium pink cherry nose, matching eyelids, and a flushed face (when it turns shiny red due to his shyness). He wears an ochre tunic with a single gold button on the chest and black-threaded beige patches on his elbows, a black belt with a gold rectangle outlined clasp, copper leggings, beige medieval-style shoes, and a teal stocking cap.
