Character William Turner, Sr., often known as "Bootstrap Bill" among pirates, made his film debut in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. He was a pirate who operated in the Seven Seas. He is Will Turner's father and a member of the Flying Dutchman. Jack Sparrow describes Bootstrap as a "good pirate and a good man."
