The Walt Disney Company produced Donald Fauntleroy Duck as a cartoon character in 1934. Donald is a yellow-orange bill, wings, and feet anthropomorphic white duck. He typically sports a sailor shirt and hat, as well as a bow tie. Donald is notorious for his stuttering speech and mischievous, temperamental, and pompous demeanor. Donald was named to TV Guide's list of the 50 best cartoon characters of all time in 2002, alongside his pal Mickey Mouse, and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has starred in more Disney films than any other character, and he is the most widely published comic book character outside of the superhero genre in the world.
Donald Duck has starred in animated cartoons in comedic roles. Donald made his first appearance in The Wise Little Hen (1934), but it was in Orphan's Benefit the following year that he established himself as a temperamental comic foil to Mickey Mouse. Donald starred in during 150 theatrical films over the next two decades, with most of them receiving Academy Award nominations. In the 1930s, he was often seen as part of a comedic trio with Mickey and Goofy, and in 1937, he was given his own film series, Don Donald. Donald's love interest and long-term girlfriend Daisy Duck was introduced in these films, which frequently featured his three nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Donald first appeared in instructional films after the 1956 film Chips Ahoy, before returning to theatrical animation in Mickey's Christmas Carol (1983). Fantasia 2000 (1999) was his last appearance in a theatrical film. Donald has also starred in direct-to-video films like Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers (2004), television shows like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (2006–2016), and video games like QuackShot (1991).
