Description
The Shaggy Dog film series consists of three theatrical and two made-for-television American science fiction-fantasy comedies. The overall plot is based on Felix Salten's novel The Hound of Florence, published in 1923. Wilbur "Wilby" Daniels (played by different actors in each film) is cursed and transforms into a huge Old English Sheepdog after obtaining an ancient Borgian ring and reciting its inscription.
In 2006, a reimagined remake with Tim Allen in the lead was released. Despite the fact that the general premise was identical, certain elements of the previous films were altered, making it more akin to a reboot. After being attacked by a'sacred dog,' the main character David Douglas transforms into a Bearded Collie. The theme of the film is slapstick comedy.

The films received a mixed to positive critical response, while the television remake received a negative response. Furthermore, both the box office and critical reception for the second remake were mostly negative. It made less money at the box office than it had budgeted. The Shaggy Dog films, along with a variety of other Disney film series, were expanded as a Walt Disney Parks franchise in 1999, with elements from each film featured in a themepark attraction.
